Here is a list of my favorite stores to shop for some good cheap finds!

I have been to these stores. Some of them will be unexpected!  You can find some really beautiful items big and small to make your home look like a million bucks.

Tips for Catching Good Decorating Deals

  • Have a keen eye (look carefully through the store, great finds can be where you least expect it.)

  • Always go to the clearance section, usually at the back of the store.)  I recently found a clearance upholstered chair in the kids bedding section at Target for literally $110.00 off the regular price.  Hope you get my point!

  • Think outside the box – look at things differently, if you see a gorgeous plate that you don’t need, think about how else you can use it like as wall art, store your jewelry, at the entry table to place keys, and the list goes on!  Colors that don’t sell often go on clearance.  Why not try something different like a color you would normally never choose and make it work in your home.

  • Take your time- when you are in a rush, you are bound to pass by some good stuff.

  • Go to department stores like Sears, Macy's, and JCPenney.  There’s always sales there and they have coupons!!  (For Macy's, you can use your phone at the register for online coupons from their site.  Our little secret.)

  • Different locations have different items and sometimes things on clearance in one place may not be in another, so go to multiple stores.

  • Online stores have clearance too!  Some of your favorite stores may have a clearance section on their website with items you can’t find in stores.

  • There are websites online that have coupons to all types of stores or online discount stores to use when shopping the web.

  • Key is to get the small stuff, bits and pieces from different places.  I would stray away from large staple pieces from popular stores, so you don’t have something that you will see in your neighbor’s home.

  • Be careful to check and try out furniture while you are in the store.  Get good solid pieces that will last.  It may cost you more, but it’s worth it.
