So, your living room space looks plain.

You want to add some some luxury, upscale, and a pop to your space, but you are not sure exactly where to start.

Don't worry here are some affordable ideas that you can do straight away.

5 simple ways to GLAM your living room

1.)  Killer Throw:  Something faux fur usually does the trick.

Definitely my fave.  Let's save a life and leave the real fur alone.

Faux fur is affordable and adds the punch of luxury that will knock them out every time.

Tip:  Find great faux fur throws at Pier 1, Pottery Barn, and HomeGoods

2.) Plush Throw Pillows:  Pending the size of your couch, oversized pillows can make a statement.

Some fun ideas for a luxurious feeling room are leather, faux fur, sequin, or feather.  Please, not all together it can look overdone.

Mix and match solid throw pillows with patterned ones and one of those listed above.

Tip:  Affordable throw pillows can be found at Target, Kohls, and Walmart.  Then mix and match with some more luxurious looking pillows from Pier 1, Pottery Barn, and HomeGoods.

Use of furry pillows, lucite furniture, collectibles on display, and a rug to define the space.

3.) Candles.  Yup, a little candlelit can go a long way.

Be sure to get ones that smell good to add some luxury smell to your space. LOL!

Lavender, seasonal, and vanilla are always a hit.

Tip:  Bath and Body Works, Yankee Candles, Dollar Tree  (if money real tight), Walmart has some good finds, Marshalls, HomeGoods (some really smell good affordable candles), or your local grocery store.

Elements of gold, candles, chandelier, vase with branches, books, and artwork are all part of the glam look.

4.) Artwork:  A statue, paintings, framed poster in glass, pictures (birds, butterfly, landscape, buildings, etc) from a book then frame it, or take a collection of something you have group them together for a display.

Groups of 3, 5, or 7, keep it simple.  Less is more in the glam world.  I have a mask collection, but it can be cameras, knick knacks, books, or crystals.

Okay, almost anything.  We're talking glam look here so using grandma's old somethings may not make the cut.  A beautiful mirror can serve as art as well.

Tip:  Find a picture you really like, go to your local office supply store like Staples or Office Depot, get it enlarged, then frame it.  Budget friendly frames at the Goodwill (spray paint them if needed), Dollar Store, Family Dollar, or just take several empty frames to create a wall display. You can even make a wall display using 5 or 7 lighting/chandelier medallions.

5.)  Rug:  A rug can add color, warmth, a sense of art or culture, ground a space, or define a space like a seating area.

A rug can add a pop of color, serve as a neutral, can be plush or textured like jute, from a land far and away, or a local find.

Rugs can add personality to a space or just make for a good story.  Either way, it can definitely add to a room.

TIp:  Don't be afraid to put a rug on carpet or layer rugs.

Bonus: Chandeliers are not just for entryways and dining rooms; a beautiful chandelier can really make the space in any living room.

Animal print done in a graceful way like zebra or leopard print: ottoman or throw pillow.

Lucite furniture is always a win.  Some of my faves are ghost chair adorned with a faux sheep rug or a nice coffee table.

Fresh flowers that are a pop of color.  Red roses usually gives a pop or white for a more neutral tone.  Pick it up at your local grocery store.
